Juneteenth at Powisset Farm, Dover

Comfort Kitchen is heading to Powisset Farm for Juneteenth!

This Juneteenth, we’re honored to gather at Powisset Farm for a special farm dinner rooted in remembrance, celebration, and community.

On Friday, June 19, we’ll be partnering with The Trustees for Comfort on the Farm: A Juneteenth Farm Dinner with Comfort Kitchen, an outdoor communal dining experience that honors the stories, traditions, and resilience of Black foodways. The evening will bring together food, farming, culture, and connection in the spirit of Juneteenth, celebrating the ways food carries history, memory, and possibility across generations.

The dinner will feature Chef Sāsha Coleman, alongside Chef Nyanyika Banda and Chef Valentine Howell, for a multi-course menu inspired by early summer ingredients from Powisset Farm and other local sources. Guests will be seated at communal tables beneath a tent, creating a warm, shared farm-to-table experience that reflects both the spirit of the holiday and our continued commitment to storytelling through food.

We’re especially excited to bring this celebration to Powisset Farm, a place deeply connected to land, community, and gathering. For us, Juneteenth is not only a moment to honor history, but also an invitation to come together around the table with care, joy, and intention.

Seating is limited for this highly anticipated event. Please note, this event is 21+.  Watch the website for a menu posting in the coming weeks.
